NAD-100 Nursing Aide Core Competencies
Nursing Aide Core Competencies is a bridge for admission course, allowing currently licensed Emergency Medical Technicians and/or Medical Assistants to complete the Nursing Assistant core competencies necessary for entry into the Rock Valley College Nursing Program. It will introduce the principles of patient care. Emphasis is placed on communication and technical skills necessary to function as an important member of the nursing team. Students are given opportunities to develop nursing assistant skills in a variety of laboratory and clinical settings.
Prerequisite
Current IDPH license as an Emergency Medical Technician, OR current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician certification, OR AAMA, NHA or AMT certification as a Medical Assistant.
