HSR-201 Crisis Intervention
A crisis is defined as an event that exceeds and overwhelms an individual’s coping skills to the point where equilibrium is disrupted. This course examines various crisis situations and the skills, techniques, and methods of crisis intervention. Students consider legal and ethical issues related to helping others during crises. Students also explore culturally diverse responses to crises and the need for self-care among human services professionals helping with crises.
